Jaipur Metro - Driver less metro

Jaipur Metro Trials going on for auto mode in Jaipur. Operator would handle the train only in case of emergencies.

Like Delhi and Mumbai metro, Jaipur will also witness driver-less metro on automatic mode soon. The operator would only look after the process management. He would be responsible for train handling only during emergencies. At present metro is being run in auto mode every night between 10:30 PM and 4:00AM. However, the auto mode process of metro could take at least 6 months to start fully due to security checks.

Speed, Station, and stops are fed in beforehand. Under auto mode, the metro works on HTO technology. Its control panel is located in the depot’s automatic control room. Speed, Station, Signal, stops are fed in beforehand for the running track. After this, the train moves on HTO technologies and only stops at pre-fed points.

The metro administration had asked applications from companies for the second phase of metro work report DPR, which was prepared by Delhi Metro. This second phase route has been pinpointed between Ambabari and Sitapura. However, the six companies, which applied, have declined the PPP mode due to future foreseen financial loss. On top of it the government wants to give the first phase of metro also on PPP mode and this is not seen as a profitable situation by applicants.
