Jaipur Eight Metro Stations to be lighted by Solar Panels

Eight metro stations to be lighted by Solar Panels

The city’s second biggest solar plant established at Mansarovar Metro Depot.

The metro stations of Jaipur will be lighted up under green energy project. This will reduce the cost of electricity spent at the stations. For this, eight stations out of nine would be establishing solar plants on their premises. There are nine stations between Mansarovar and Chandpole on a track length of 9.2 km. Only Chandpole station is underground out of the nine stations. Therefore, Solar panels will be set up on other eight stations. The proposal for the same has been sent to concerned authorities.

JMCRC has decided to use the rooftop solar panels. The proposal has been sent to the director of SECI (Solar Energy Corporation of India) at Delhi. Specialists have been invited to study the metro stations premises. A big percentage of electricity shall be saved by the use of Solar Panels as the lights etc of stations shall be regulated by electricity formed by Solar Panels.

Jaipur Metro Performance is better compare to Delhi Bangalore and other Metro

Jaipur Metro’s opening is better than Delhi and Bangalore

The second Phase delayed while showing loss in Metro but statistics say a different story.

There are many questions regarding Jaipur Metro. The biggest question being if the metro is in such a big loss then who and why would anyone start the second phase of Metro. It was found in research conducted by Dainik Bhaskar that out of 110 metros in the whole world only five are in profit. Even if we compare the first phase of Delhi-Bangalore- Chennai then also Jaipur Metro seems in a more profitable condition than they do.

Some statistics regarding Jaipur Metro are quoted underneath –

It started with 52400 passengers per day, whereas now there are 30000 passengers per day. The cost of functioning a metro is 8.5 lakh per day and the income is at 3.20 lakh rupees. That is why no private company is getting ready to invest in the second phase of the metro. The second phase is already a year late and there are no signs of it starting further soon.

However, the facts are striking. If the earlier months are to be compared then the number of passengers commuting daily in Delhi and Jaipur amount to same even when Delhi is more than twice in population.

It would take 10 years to be profitable –

According to Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation, the profitable condition of Metro will take 10 years to achieve. The CMD of Jaipur Metro, Mr. N.C Goyal also agrees with this prediction. According to him, this amount of time is required for nay metro to break even and earn profits. Jaipur Metro can come to a fully profitable condition in 10 years after the increase in phase.
