Jaipur Metro's lost and found administrative department has returned around 1.49 Lakh Rupees and personal stuff left by the passengers on board
Around 14 months have passed since Jaipur Metro was launched but in the meantime, many passengers have left their precious personal belongings and money on board and on stations. But JMCRC department has not let such people go empty handed. CCTV camera's help was taken and the passengers were identified and called and their belongings were returned under the lost and found policy. However, many people do not have any idea bout this policy. In the past passengers have left a total of 1.5 lakh Rupees and lots of personal belongings. When no one turned up then some stuff had to be auctioned. According to Metro rules any belonging can be taken within 48 hours after giving a proof of the belonging.
Money left behind would be returned the same day
There are different rules of JMCRC for money left behind. When money is left behind it is kept only till the same revenue day. The passengers can claim before the closing of the Metro. Also, jewelry and precious stones can also be claimed under the rules but when they have to be auctioned then the committee waits for 10 days and takes out its net worth. If a passenger claims then the jewelry is returned. But he has to give the cost of finding its net worth. According to C.S Jeengar, Director JMCRC, a lost and found policy is in place. This information is given to the passengers from time to time and it is also posted on the website.
