Jaipur Metro Bomb Disposal Squad

Thirteen guards to be given special training

Jaipur metro is all set to provide its passengers Hi - tech security services. BDS(Bomb Disposal Squad), CCTV Cameras, Metal detectors, and heavy security patrolling at each station is in progress. In addition, under the special intelligence-training centre of Rajasthan police, thirteen guards would be imparted special training.

Metro’s security responsibility is under the commiserate police of Jaipur. Every station has 16 policemen on patrol in a particular shift. These guards are trained under CISF camp and by the Delhi Metro Authority. In addition, the Metro police station has also been formed to track any illegal or unsocial, criminal activities on the station.


Further, following the chain of security events the BDS team is under formation. The BDS team would comprise of one sub inspector, two head constables and 10 constables. After zeroing on their names, correspondence has commenced with the head office. The guards patrolling at metro stations are under formative training in both practices, i.e. to locate and dispose the bombs under the intelligence training.

Vidhansabha Committee finds Metro Work Satisfactory

The Vidhansabha’s state enterprise committee has expressed satisfaction in Metro’s work and route procedures. However, one of the legislative members of congress has also pointed out some flaws. On Monday the head of the committee Mr. Mohanlal Gupta along with other members commenced a survey for around two hours. 

They first surveyed the Mansarovar Metro Yard and then looked at the station ticket counter amenities. The head also bought his ticket and was briefed about the metro running procedure. All the members had one to one talks with the driver for the technical know how of the train. Metro’s CMD Nihalchand Goyal was also present for the same. 

All members had a tour from Mansarovar to Chandpole and further they were briefed about the work in progress at the Chaupar. As per Mohanlal Gupta the metro is functioning properly. Ramesh Meena, legislative member of congress commented that there are many loopholes at metro yard which needs to be taken care of.


Mr. Gupta also added that in future when the work at Tripolia market commences, then proper care should be taken that the areas of Choti Chaupar, Badi Chaupar and Chaura Rasta should not be jammed and should have proper access for traffic. He suggested that for this purpose traffic can be made one way instead of blocking it completely.

Jaipur Metro Stations to get a makeover

Jaipur Metro Stations to get a makeover with parking area to be utilized for Shopping Arcade in accord with Delhi Metro

Multistory Shopping Malls to be developed at 8 Metro stations- 

Soon the city will witness the development of multistory shopping malls at the 8 stations of Jaipur Metro including Mansarovar Metro depot. However Shyam Nagar and Sindhi Camp station are not included in this plan. According to sources the parking area at the metro station would be utilized to develop into a multistory mall with many amenities.

Keeping in with Delhi Metro theme Mall, Foodcourt, shopping centre and entertainment arcade will be developed at the Jaipur metro stations where some malls and shopping centers would be above on the level of the station and some would be under it, utilizing the parking areas and nearby places.

The areas near the vicinity of the station would be developed-

Jmrc is planning to develop the area near the stations in accordance to passengers and tourists. Apart from tourists the plans are to develop the nearby area of station for passengers’ relatives and families with food zone, shopping market, coffee shops and bookshops in mind. According to metro authorities this project could commence by the end of 2015 with the main theme and the idea behind the development is to cater to the niche of women and children being at ease at night and towards the comfort of tourists and easy access to the market.

N.C Goyal CMD Metro says, “Jaipur’s seven stations, including Mansrovar depot would be developed with multi storey shopping malls, especially in the parking areas so as to provide comfort and easy accessibility to the passengers and tourists”.

E – Rickshaws to be made available for public near the metro station areas-

Metro is planning to make E- Rickshaws and vehicles like Tata magic available easily for the public to be used to and fro to station in the vicinity of 6-7 kms around Mansarovar station depot, which would include areas like Shyam Nagar, Gujar ki Thadi, Sodala, Devi Nagar, Ram Nagar etc. Around 9 stations of metro would have the facility of E-Rickshaws. Around 17-20 e-Rickshaws have already been made available for Mansarovar station and license procedures of drivers are in progress now.

Tour Packages for Metro-

For local and international tourists visiting Jaipur, Metro Travel has been included in special tour packages. According to Tour operator Bahadur Singh Rajawat, “Morning and evening Tour packages for Metro have been included in Tourist itinerary wherein the guides and tour operators present the beauty of Jaipur city and point various photographic locations to the tourists. The tourists visiting Jaipur are excited about this offer and are opting to see Jaipur in this new comfortable way instead of going through road traffic and narrow alleys”.

Tour operator Sanjay Kaushik says, “This is a new and better option. It is proving to be a safe way of city tour of Jaipur. As it is just the start of this now, we expect that this will be a great exciting feature for tourists in the coming season”.

One months Riders in Jaipur Metro

Jaipur Metro ridership dips in one month


On the first day (June 3, 2015 ) of its run, more than 50,000 passengers travelled by Jaipur Metro. The ridership initially showed an increase as on the first Saturday after the commercial run (June 6) nearly 1 lakh passengers travelled in the train. "We have been getting good ridership since its inauguration. 

The figures of ridership available with JMRC suggested that after June 15 there was a regular dip in the number of passengers travelling daily in the Jaipur Metro. "From June 15 there has been a drastic dip in the number of passengers, from 50,000 per day to 32,000. Since June 23 the ridership during weekdays has not touched a figure of 40,000 passengers per day," said an official.

At this time Jaipur Metro passengers count is down compare to first days but it will increase in long run.
