In a first, mothers can feed babies at Metro stations

In a bid to provide relief to lactating mothers who have to face a harrowing time while breastfeeding neonates in public places, the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC), in a first-of-its-kind facility, has developed two rooms for breastfeeding so that mothers can attend to their infants at ease. These rooms, named as Amrit Kalash, have been developed at Mansarovar and Chandpole stations, which are starting points of the Metro corridor from either ends.


JMRC chief managing director N C Goel said, "Apart from international airport in Jaipur, this facility is not provided at any public place including the railway stations and bus stands. This initiative will encourage more people to travel by Metro." He further said that at Mansarovar station, this room is situated close to the consumer care centre (CCC), near gate number 1. Similarly, at Chandpole station, Amrit Kalash is close to CCC, near gate number 1 and 2.



"These rooms remain locked. Any commuter can ask for the keys from the CCC and return after breastfeeding child," the official added. In these rooms, the JMRC has put chairs and beds for the mothers. Posters giving information about the vaccination of children have also been pasted in the rooms. "The rooms have been painted in rainbow colours to give a lively feeling. The JMRC has also installed intercom service which would connect the speaker directly to the station master and CCC workers," he added.

ट्रैक निर्माण में सबसे तेज, खूबसूरती में सबसे बेहतर और तकनीक में अव्वल ट्रेन के साथ शुरू हुई हमारी मेट्रो अब मुंबई और दिल्ली से भी आगे निकल गई है। केंद्र सरकार ने शुक्रवार को जयपुर मेट्रो को देश की सभी मेट्रो में नंबर वन के अवार्ड से नवाजा है। 




यदि आप देश के अन्य शहरों की मेट्रो ट्रेनों में बैठ चुके हैं तो हम आपको बता दें कि जयपुर मेट्रो ट्रेन उन सब ट्रेनों से अलग है। यह उन ट्रेनों जैसी नहीं हैं, जिनमें आप पहले से बैठ चुके हैं। दिल्ली और मुंबई से भी खूबसूरत है। मजबूत है। सुरक्षित है और बेहतरीन तकनीक का इस्तेमाल किया गया है। यह एेसी तकनीक है, जिसमें ट्रेन कभी एक दूसरे से टकराएगी नहीं। किसी भयानक गलती के कारण आमने-सामने भी आकर तेजी से भिड़ जाए तो न तो ट्रैक से नीचे उतरेगी और न ही एक-दूसरे पर चढ़ेगी। आमने-सामने आकर झटके के साथ चिपक जाएगी। यानी सबसे बड़ी दुर्घटना के बावजूद भी सुरक्षित।

विकलांगों के लिए विशेष सीटें -

विकलांगों के लिए मेट्रो ट्रेन के डीटी यानी ड्राइवर ट्रेलर में आगे और पीछे की ओर दो-दो सीटों का इंतजाम किया गया है। ये गेट में प्रवेश के साथ लगी हैं जो फोर सीटर हैं। इन्हें विशेष रूप दिया गया है जिससे विकलांगों को परेशानी नहीं हो।

ट्रेन ऑपरेटर से यात्रियों का सीधा संपर्क-

किसी भी आपात स्थिति में यात्रियों का ट्रेन ऑपरेटर यानी मेट्रो ट्रेन के ड्राइवर से सीधा संपर्क हो सकता है। ट्रेन के हर कोच में प्रत्येक गेट के पास एक-एक स्मार्ट फोन लगाया गया है। फोन के साथ एक कैमरा भी लगा है, ताकि ड्राइवर बात करने वाले के चेहरे को देख सके। इनके ऑपरेट का तरीका भी यहां लिखा हुआ है। किसी भी घटना, विशेष परिस्थिति के दौरान यात्री इसका उपयोग कर सकें।

पब्लिक एड्रेसिंग सिस्टम और कंट्रोल

विमान में जिस तरह पायलट यात्रियों को समय-समय पर जानकारी देते रहते हैं, इसी तरह यहां भी ऑपरेटर पब्लिक को सीधे संबोधित कर सकते हैं। आवश्यकता पडऩे पर वह जानकारी उपलब्ध करा देगा। इसके अलावा ऑनलाइन पब्लिक एड्रेसिंग सिस्टम भी काम कर रहा है। इसमें ट्रेन कहां पहुंची, कौनसा स्टेशन छोड़ा, कौनसा आने वाला है। किस दिशा में आएगा। यह सब जानकारी अनाउंस की जाती है।

जयपुर मेट्रो के हर कोच में एंट्री-एक्जिट गेट के दोनों ओर सीसीटीवी कैमरे लगाए गए हैं। उनका कंट्रोल ट्रेन ऑपरेटर के हाथ में दिया गया है। इससे जैसे ही कोई गड़बड़ होगी या अन्य घटना-दुर्घटना की स्थिति में आपरेटर ट्रेन को स्थिति के अनुकूल ऑपरेट कर सकेगा। यदि कोई पैसेंजर किसी अनुशासन तोड़ता है तो उसे भी आपरेटर सीसीटीवी कैमरे की मदद से रोक सकेगा। इसके लिए एक बड़ा मॉनिटर उसके केबिन में लगाया गया है। कैमरे का नियंत्रण डिपो में भी रहेगा।

फायर फाइटर्स व स्मोक प्रूफ

जयपुर मेट्रो में ट्रेन ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम पूरी तरह ऑटोमेटिक है। इसमें दो ऑपरेटर लगाए गए हैं, जो सिस्टम पर निगरानी रखते हैं। पूरा कंट्रोल डिपो स्थिति कंट्रोल रूम व आपरेटर के पास दिया गया है। मेट्रो ट्रेन को वैसे पूर्णत: स्मोक प्रूफ बनाया गया है, जिससे किसी भी प्रकार की आग लगने की संभावना नगण्य है।

जैसे ही कहीं जरा भी धुआं जैसी स्थिति बनेगी, फायर फाइटिंग सिस्टम काम करने लगेगा और आग पर नियंत्रण हो सकेगा। कोच में कोई भी यात्री स्मोकिंग नहीं कर सकेगा। ट्रेन को टौक्सिक फ्री बनाया गया है। यहां स्मोकिंग करते ही अलार्म बजेगा, जिससे तुरंत ही होने वाली हलचल से ट्रेन रुक जाएगी और स्मोकर को पकड़ा जा सकेगा।

इको फ्रेंडली और पावर सेविंग

बीईएमएल ने जयपुर मेट्रो ट्रेन को ईको फ्रेंडली बनाया है। इसके साथ ही ऐसे उपकरण लगाए हैं, जिससे पॉवर की खपत कम से कम होगी। बल्कि पॉवर जेनरेशन के उपकरण लगाए गए हैं।

जयपुर मेट्रो में बैठने वाले प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को बेहद सुखद अनुभव होगा। विमान की तरह होगा मेट्रो का सफर। पूरी तरह साउंडप्रूफ, न बाहर की आवाज अंदर और न ही अंदर की आवाज बाहर। अंदर भी ट्रेन की आवाज नहीं होगी। केवल यात्रियों की बातचीत की ही आवाज सुनाई देगी।

लाइन रूट मैप

मेट्रो ट्रेन के प्रत्येक गेट के ऊपरी हिस्से में एक रूट मैप लगाया गया है। इससे पता चलेगा कि आप किस रूट पर चल रहे हैं और किस स्टेशन से गुजर रहे हैं। यह उसी तरह काम करेगा जैसे जीपीआरएस सिस्टम काम करता है।

लिफ्ट की तरह काम करेंगे डोर

ऊंची ईमारतों में काम आने वाली लिफ्ट के गेट की तरह ही मेट्रो के गेट काम करते हैं। वजह यह है कि जैसे ही कोई अवरोध दोनों गेटों के बीच आएगा, गेट तुरंत खुल जाएंगे। यानी गेट में किसी यात्री के फंसने जैसी स्थिति नहीं बनेगी। ये गेट सीधे ट्रेन ऑपरेटर से संपर्क में रहते हैं।

जयपुर के मेट्रो के सभी कोच एसी हैं। इनमें सफर करना बेहद आरामदायक है। कोचेज को हाई डिजाइन कंफर्ट बनाया गया है, जिससे न केवल बैठकर बल्कि खड़े सफर करने वाले प्रत्येक यात्री को दिक्कत नहीं होती। थकान महसूस नहीं होती।

बड़े कपलर

एक कोच को दूसरे से जोडऩे वाले कपलर भी अन्य मेट्रो के मुकाबले बड़े लगाए गए हैं। यानी दो कोच जहां जोड़े जाते हैं, उस स्थान पर भी कोच का ही रूप दिखते हैं। सामान्य ट्रेन के कोच के बीच के कपलर इतने छोटे होते हैं कि एक छोटी गैलेरी में से यात्री को दूसरे कोच में जाने में घबराहट होती है, लेकिन मेट्रो ट्रेन के कोच के बीच के ये कपलर इतने बड़े और कोच के शेप के ही बनाए गए हैं कि ऐसी कोई दिक्कत नहीं होती। अंतिम डिब्बे से पहले डिब्बे तक सभी कोच एक साथ दिखाई देते हैं।

वाटर प्रूफ भी

हमारी मेट्रो साउंड प्रूफ ही नहीं वाटर प्रूफ है। इसकी छत को इस प्रकार का रूप दिया गया है कि कितनी भी बारिश होने की स्थिति में एक बूंद भी पानी अंदर प्रवेश नहीं करता। साथ ही साइड वॉल्स भी इसी प्रकार की तकनीक की बनाई गई हैं, जहां से पानी अंदर नहीं आता।

पूरी ट्रेन में करीब 1230 यात्री

भारत अर्थ मूवर्स लिमिटेड बेंगलुरू में तैयार की गई मेट्रो ट्रेन में न्यूनतम 1230 यात्री सफर कर सकते हैं। एक ट्रेन में दो मोटर कार और दो ड्राइविंग ट्रेलर कार लगाए गए हैं। एक मोटर कार में 340 (सिटिंग 50 व स्टेंडिंग 290) और ड्राइविंग ट्रेलर कार में 315 (सिटिंग 43 व स्टेंडिंग 272) यात्री एक बार में सफर कर सकते हैं।

रुकते समय नहीं लगेगा झटका

मेट्रो ट्रेन के व्हील्स को इस प्रकार की तकनीक से बनाया गया है, ताकि रुकते समय या धीरे होते समय ट्रेन में यात्रियों को झटका नहीं लगता। व्हील्स में सामान्य ट्रेनों की तरह या दिल्ली मेट्रो के ट्रेन की तरह ब्रेक नहीं लगाए गए, बल्कि व्हील माउंटेड डिस्क ब्रेक लगाए गए हैं। जो धीरे होते समय झटका नहीं लगने देते।

टीवी स्क्रीन भी

यात्रियों की सुविधा के लिए मेट्रो ट्रेन में मॉनिटर (स्क्रीन) भी लगाए गए हैं। इस पर नियमित रूप से स्टेशनों की जानकारी के अलावा शहर और अन्य महत्वपूर्ण जानकारियां दी जाती हैं।

सिंगल पिलर पर मेट्रो स्टेशन

सभी स्टेशनों को एक कतार में बने खंभों पर बनाया गया है। इससे स्टेशन के लिए अलग से जमीन की जरूरत नहीं पड़ी। डिवाइडर पर बने खंभों पर ही स्टेशन बना दिया गया। इस तकनीक को कैंटीलीवर तकनीक कहते हैं। इसका प्रयोग देश में पहली बार जयपुर में ही हुआ। इससे भविष्य में सड़क की चौड़ाई बढ़ाने का विकल्प खुला रहता है।

जयपुर मेट्रो सबसे अधिक शार्प कर्व

जयपुर मेट्रो देश में पहली सबसे अधिक घुमावदार ट्रैक पर चल रही है। स्टेशन से सिंधी कैंप की तरफ निकलते ही 120 रेडियस का घुमाव है, जो सबसे शार्प कर्व है। इस घुमाव से यात्रियों और ट्रेन को कोई खतरा नहीं है, लेकिन यहां सबसे कम स्पीड 40 किमी प्रति घंटा की रफ्तार से चल रही है।

स्टेशन पर रेन वाटर हार्वेस्टिंग 

पानी का सदुपयोग करने के लिए मेट्रो के हर पिलर और स्टेशन को रेन वाटर हार्वेस्टिंग से जोड़ा गया है ताकि बारिश के पानी का सदुपयोग हो सके। ट्रैक पर आने वाले बारिश के पानी को पिलरों में पाइप लगा कर नीचे जमीन तक पहुंचा गया है। पांच पिलर के पानी के लिए एक रेन वाटर हार्वेस्टिंग बनाया गया है।

80% फ्यूल की बचत

मेट्रो पॉल्यूशन फ्री है। चारदीवारी के लोगों की ओर से मेट्रो का अधिक उपयोग करने पर परकोटे और शहर के प्रदूषण में कमी होगी। यहां पर वाहनों का अधिक उपयोग करने पर प्रदूषण बढ़ता जा रहा है। इसका खर्चा कुल फ्यूल खर्च का 20 प्रतिशत ही आएगा। यानी 80 प्रतिशत फ्यूल की बचत।

A special mobile sim will handle ticketing and journey in Jaipur metro

Jaipur Metro is country’s first metro to start mobile ticketing

This is the first time in country and its happening in Jaipur. The commuters would have to touch their smart phone screen on the entry and exit gates at metro station. At present tokens and smart cards are being used for journey. Now mobile phone would be made similar to smart cards by one touch function. 

A Korean company had experimented this idea in Jaipur metro in past days and it was successful. This is being introduced for the first time in the country in Jaipur. However, the same would be used in the new phase of Delhi Metro. A special sim was imported from Korea and the expert used the phone for internet and calls as well as for the ticketing of metro journey in Jaipur. Soon this facility would be started for the commuters. 


It will work on NFC function-

The commuters would need near field communication (NFC) supported mobile, which is available in smart phones nowadays.
The NFC function sim would be used in the phone, which would be provided by telecom operators. 
The sim would join with metro’s central server and would be available to be used for the journey. The commuters would have to buy a new sim which would have two parts one for NFC and other for calling, internet etc.


"Top up" available on metro station or internet-
The new system set up of South Korea installed in Jaipur metro has provision of rental charging of ticket through NFC in mobile phones. The commuters would be able to top up their NFC sim themselves. A form would have to be registered with the company for the sim and it will top up at station or on the internet. The banks working for metro would be involved for web top up. 

In the words of C S Jeengar, O&S Director, Jaipur Metro, Such facility of top up through mobile for metro journey is being provided for the first time in the country at Jaipur. The same is marked to be used in new phase of Delhi metro but we have experimented it successfully for first time in India in Jaipur. Soon the Sims would be taken from the companies after meeting.

Jaipur Metro Second Phase work Report

Jaipur Metro Second Phase work is in progress. Till now 80 meter tunnel completed with the help of one TBM machine now second TBM machine will also start work and both TBM machine will maintain distance for safety. This machine can dig 6-7 meter daily. 

80  meter tunnel is ready, now second TBM will also start work. This decision is taken to make sure safety of Chandpole gate.

Jaipur Metro uses its own electricity

Metro uses its own electricity by friction to complete 33 round trips per day

Jaipur metro is proving to be a successful self-sustaining unit in Jaipur. However, the 9 km run from Mansarovar to Chandpole is not fully stacked with commuters but it is slowly picking up. The break even is trying to be achieved by generation of its own electricity through friction. This makes the cost of the 33 trips per day almost free to the Metro. This will save about 20-lakh tone of electricity in a year. According to metro authorities, the more the running distance increases the more it will break even.

Metro produces electricity on slope-

·     When metro is on the slope, the regenerative brake system comes into action and the motor starts working like a generator. This produces electricity. This electricity automatically passes to the wires above and is transferred to the metro coming from behind.

·       The maximum slope is between Chandpole and Mansarovar route i.e. about 40%.

Metro is in loss right now but big profits are anticipated in future-

Jaipur metro is equipped to sustain around 1.30 lakh commuters per day. However, in present scenario around 32,000 commuters are travelling daily. This number was at 50,000 commuters in the first month. The average of two months is around 41,000 daily. Because of the difference in expected and present scenario of around 80,000 commuters, the metro is in loss at present.

According to C.S Jeengar, Director O & S, Metro is self sufficient in many ways. As the trips will increase, the electricity production will also increase. At present more than 5000 unit, electricity is being produced daily. By estimates, metro will save around twenty lakh units of electricity in a year.

Jaipur Metro to PPP Mode

The Verdict for handling over Metro to PPP to come this month.

As Indian companies are not too keen to handle metro through PPP, hence some international companies have come forward for the same. Four companies have inspected metro in the past three months. After a final meeting with two of those companies, the verdict could be out this month itself.

The company that plans to take up the 2nd phase of metro through PPP would also be responsible for the phase one. At present, the government is looking after phase one for which a loan of 969 crore rupees have been taken, and this would have to be paid by the company which takes over the phases by PPP model.

Singapore’s SMRT company and AMT Company of china and America have been in talks with officials regarding this project take over. The American company wanted wheel less metro as their requirement. Also Malaysian company CIDB’s officials have also had many discussions with our officials regarding the same. CIDB’s company officials are visiting on Monday again for a 3-day visit and meeting with Metro’s CMD NC Goyal.

Jaipur metro is all set to provide its passengers Hi - tech security services. BDS(Bomb Disposal Squad), CCTV Cameras, Metal detectors, and heavy security patrolling at each station is in progress. In addition, under the special intelligence-training centre of Rajasthan police, thirteen guards would be imparted special training.

Metro’s security responsibility is under the commiserate police of Jaipur. Every station has 16 policemen on patrol in a particular shift. These guards are trained under CISF camp and by the Delhi Metro Authority. In addition, the Metro police station has also been formed to track any illegal or unsocial, criminal activities on the station.


Further, following the chain of security events the BDS team is under formation. The BDS team would comprise of one sub inspector, two head constables and 10 constables. After zeroing on their names, correspondence has commenced with the head office. The guards patrolling at metro stations are under formative training in both practices, i.e. to locate and dispose the bombs under the intelligence training.

Vidhansabha Committee finds Metro Work Satisfactory

The Vidhansabha’s state enterprise committee has expressed satisfaction in Metro’s work and route procedures. However, one of the legislative members of congress has also pointed out some flaws. On Monday the head of the committee Mr. Mohanlal Gupta along with other members commenced a survey for around two hours. 

They first surveyed the Mansarovar Metro Yard and then looked at the station ticket counter amenities. The head also bought his ticket and was briefed about the metro running procedure. All the members had one to one talks with the driver for the technical know how of the train. Metro’s CMD Nihalchand Goyal was also present for the same. 

All members had a tour from Mansarovar to Chandpole and further they were briefed about the work in progress at the Chaupar. As per Mohanlal Gupta the metro is functioning properly. Ramesh Meena, legislative member of congress commented that there are many loopholes at metro yard which needs to be taken care of.


Mr. Gupta also added that in future when the work at Tripolia market commences, then proper care should be taken that the areas of Choti Chaupar, Badi Chaupar and Chaura Rasta should not be jammed and should have proper access for traffic. He suggested that for this purpose traffic can be made one way instead of blocking it completely.

Jaipur Metro Stations to get a makeover

Jaipur Metro Stations to get a makeover with parking area to be utilized for Shopping Arcade in accord with Delhi Metro

Multistory Shopping Malls to be developed at 8 Metro stations- 

Soon the city will witness the development of multistory shopping malls at the 8 stations of Jaipur Metro including Mansarovar Metro depot. However Shyam Nagar and Sindhi Camp station are not included in this plan. According to sources the parking area at the metro station would be utilized to develop into a multistory mall with many amenities.

Keeping in with Delhi Metro theme Mall, Foodcourt, shopping centre and entertainment arcade will be developed at the Jaipur metro stations where some malls and shopping centers would be above on the level of the station and some would be under it, utilizing the parking areas and nearby places.

The areas near the vicinity of the station would be developed-

Jmrc is planning to develop the area near the stations in accordance to passengers and tourists. Apart from tourists the plans are to develop the nearby area of station for passengers’ relatives and families with food zone, shopping market, coffee shops and bookshops in mind. According to metro authorities this project could commence by the end of 2015 with the main theme and the idea behind the development is to cater to the niche of women and children being at ease at night and towards the comfort of tourists and easy access to the market.

N.C Goyal CMD Metro says, “Jaipur’s seven stations, including Mansrovar depot would be developed with multi storey shopping malls, especially in the parking areas so as to provide comfort and easy accessibility to the passengers and tourists”.

E – Rickshaws to be made available for public near the metro station areas-

Metro is planning to make E- Rickshaws and vehicles like Tata magic available easily for the public to be used to and fro to station in the vicinity of 6-7 kms around Mansarovar station depot, which would include areas like Shyam Nagar, Gujar ki Thadi, Sodala, Devi Nagar, Ram Nagar etc. Around 9 stations of metro would have the facility of E-Rickshaws. Around 17-20 e-Rickshaws have already been made available for Mansarovar station and license procedures of drivers are in progress now.

Tour Packages for Metro-

For local and international tourists visiting Jaipur, Metro Travel has been included in special tour packages. According to Tour operator Bahadur Singh Rajawat, “Morning and evening Tour packages for Metro have been included in Tourist itinerary wherein the guides and tour operators present the beauty of Jaipur city and point various photographic locations to the tourists. The tourists visiting Jaipur are excited about this offer and are opting to see Jaipur in this new comfortable way instead of going through road traffic and narrow alleys”.

Tour operator Sanjay Kaushik says, “This is a new and better option. It is proving to be a safe way of city tour of Jaipur. As it is just the start of this now, we expect that this will be a great exciting feature for tourists in the coming season”.

One months Riders in Jaipur Metro

Jaipur Metro ridership dips in one month


On the first day (June 3, 2015 ) of its run, more than 50,000 passengers travelled by Jaipur Metro. The ridership initially showed an increase as on the first Saturday after the commercial run (June 6) nearly 1 lakh passengers travelled in the train. "We have been getting good ridership since its inauguration. 

The figures of ridership available with JMRC suggested that after June 15 there was a regular dip in the number of passengers travelling daily in the Jaipur Metro. "From June 15 there has been a drastic dip in the number of passengers, from 50,000 per day to 32,000. Since June 23 the ridership during weekdays has not touched a figure of 40,000 passengers per day," said an official.

At this time Jaipur Metro passengers count is down compare to first days but it will increase in long run.
